Membership in Tracy’s International Kenpo Karate Association (TIKKA) signifies an affiliation with the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate and a commitment to its continued integrity, preservation, and responsible instruction.
The expectations outlined below exist to ensure clarity, consistency, and mutual respect between the association and its members.
General Expectations
Members of TIKKA are expected to:
Conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner when representing the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate
Accurately represent their training, rank, and lineage within the Tracy System
Respect the independence of other instructors and schools while adhering to the standards of the system
Comply with the policies, procedures, and decisions of the association
Membership does not confer ownership of the Tracy System, nor does it grant authority to represent the system beyond one’s legitimate training and credentials.
Instructional Integrity
Members who teach the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate are expected to:
Teach material that is consistent with the documented curriculum and principles of the Tracy System
Avoid misrepresentation, dilution, or unauthorized modification of system material
Present rank, credentials, and affiliation accurately and without exaggeration
TIKKA does not mandate uniform teaching methods or business practices. However, instructional integrity and honest representation are fundamental expectations of membership.
Rank Recognition
Formal rank recognition within the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate is administered by TIKKA in accordance with established standards and oversight.
Members seeking rank recognition are expected to:
Provide accurate documentation of prior training and rank
Comply with applicable procedures for evaluation and recognition
Respect decisions rendered by the association and the Senior Council
Rank recognition through TIKKA applies only to the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate and does not imply authority outside the system.
Events and Association Activities
Members participating in TIKKA-sanctioned events, training camps, or activities are expected to:
Conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values and standards of the Tracy System
Follow event guidelines and instructions provided by organizers
Treat fellow participants with respect and professionalism
Failure to meet these expectations may result in removal from an event or other administrative action.
Membership Status and Dues
Membership is assessed on an annual basis. Members are responsible for maintaining current dues and accurate contact information.
Membership may lapse or be suspended if dues are not maintained or if expectations outlined by the association are not met.
Volunteer Organization
TIKKA is operated entirely by volunteers. Officers, Directors, and members of the Senior Council receive no compensation for their service.
Members are expected to communicate respectfully and recognize that reasonable response times may be required.
Association Authority
TIKKA reserves the right to:
Establish and update membership policies and procedures
Grant, deny, suspend, or revoke membership when warranted
Address conduct that is inconsistent with the expectations outlined above
All such actions are taken with the intent of preserving the integrity, continuity, and legitimacy of the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate.
A Shared Responsibility
Membership in TIKKA represents a shared responsibility between the association and its members. By maintaining clear expectations and mutual respect, TIKKA seeks to ensure that the Tracy System of Kenpo Karate remains intact, credible, and available to future generations.
